Preventative Maintenance Services for Linux/Unix & Microsoft Windows Servers

ABT SupportLink is continually looking at methods to improve the efficiency and productivity of our client’s computer systems and highly recommend our scheduled Preventative Maintenance Service to you.

Our Preventative Maintenance Service have already proven to be a success in saving companies from valuable down time. For clients new to ABT or those that have not yet taken up this service, we would like to bring it to your attention.

Scheduled Maintenance

Your computer system can be related to a car in some respects. Every 10,000kms, or every couple of months, you need to have your car serviced to keep it running efficiently. ABT’s Preventative Maintenance Service offers a similar service for all Unix, Red Hat Linux or Microsoft Servers.

Regular as Clockwork

The Preventative Maintenance Service is carried out on a regular schedule every one to three months, depending on your system usage and transaction volumes. ABT remotely connects to your server and runs a series of system maintenance checks to ensure that it is running efficiently and that your system resources are appropriately allocated for optimum Server performance.

On completion of each Preventative Maintenance Service, a detailed report is faxed or e-mailed to you detailing the results of the current Preventative Maintenance Service and the status of your System. Each Preventative Maintenance Service takes approximately two (2) hours, which can be deducted from a current support contract or setup as a fixed monthly, quarterly or annual service fee.

ABT are proud to offer this service as a proactive method in the maintenance of your computer system to keep it running at optimum performance and to foresee and correct any issues before they become problems. In achieving our goal of improving the efficiency and productivity of your computer system, we would hope that this would then flow on into your organisation.

Examples of PM tasks

- Verify and delete unwanted temporary files created by your system that just take up valuable disk space.
- Monitor your memory resources to ensure they re being used efficiently.
- Validate available disk capacity and monitor growth.
- Examine operating system message files to ensure they not getting too large.
- Check system performance. Review system error logs.
