ABT has completed the purchase of Sydney based Tramm Security, with the intention of changing the way business security is managed by both the vendor and company.

“For too long, corporate and small business security has been an afterthought,” said ABT founder Reg King.

“Security should be considered part of a companies technology assets. I'm not talking about guards and heavy duty glass, ABT Security Systems will be about integrating security into your present IT structure,” King said.

As part of the ABT Group, ABT Security Systems will offer companies systems that link their back-end business software with their security systems. This includes ID recognition, keypad security, alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems and security systems.

ABT Security will be looking to expand their presence in the strong ABT Group verticals of retail, warehousing and distribution.

ABT Security Systems will also provide clients with mobile phone applications, such as iPhone apps, allowing instant mobile viewing of management tools and security infrastructure.

ABT's Software Development Division has written customised software designed to fit client business processes since 1992.

ABT has supplied, implemented and maintains POS systems for VHA Pty Ltd with approximately six million customers, plus Optus World, Virgin Mobile, Telechoice, and Allphones among others.

ABT Security Systems will be headed up by electronics engineer, Terry Stanley.
