ABT (Applied Business Technology) puts people first, with the appointment of George Dragunow as General Manager Client Services

An internal promotion seems hardly ground breaking yet for ABT (Applied Business Technology) appointing new General Manager Client Services George Dragunow is a clear signal that employees come first with ABT.

George Dragunow has worked with ABT for more than fifteen (15) years, most recently as manager of the consulting services group and is a qualified CPA (Certified Practicising Accountant).

“Whilst we (ABT) have differentiated ourselves on a business level, ABT needed to do more with our staff. Our intention is to develop a work environment that is more conducive to families, to family time, family needs and to individuals," said ABT Group chief executive officer, Reg King.

“ABT know that a job isn't the only factor in a person's life," King added.

ABT is Australia's leading business software provider with an extensive client list particularly in the key verticals of multi-site retail,  telecommunications and distribution. ABT is also the leading Pronto software distributor in Australia.

“Everyone talks about employees being the core of their business. Try being in a service business like we are. At ABT, consultants aren't the core of the business, they are the business," said Reg King.

Getting and retaining quality staff is one of the most pressing issues facing IT services companies in Australia.

“That's why George's appointment was so critical for us. As General Manager Client Services, George sets the tone for all of our consultants and workplace. George has worked with us, incredibly successfully, for a long time and knows, better than most, that working with a company needs to be about give and take. It can't be all one way," King said.

“ABT is very serious about creating the right atmosphere, at and for, work. Work needs to be challenging, flexible, enjoyable and rewarding," added King.

“I like the Google model," said ABT's new General Manager Client Services George Dragunow.

“My intention is that ABT will grow as a fun place to work, a place that provides challenges and flexibility. I know that personally I do my best work when I'm happy. That's not difficult to see, or understand," Dragunow added.

ABT is  one of Australia's leading business software providers with a client list including Vodafone Hutchinson Australia with more than one thousand ABT POS users within Australia, as well as Optus World, Virgin Mobile, Telechoice, and Allphones among others in the communications industry.

ABT also works with major distributors including the worlds leading supplier of distributed electrical supplies, Rexel.
